DAYTON — As part of the Visiting Neighboring Faiths Project 2025, the Interfaith Forum of Greater Dayton (IFGD) presented their third event of this year at the Sikh Society of Dayton.

Dr. Darshan Singh Sehbi, Vice President of IFGD, explained during the event held on Sunday that IFGD organizes interfaith events throughout the year to bring members of different faiths closer together. The latest focus was learning about the Sikh Faith and practices.

The guests found the interfaith dialogue mentally stimulating. IFGD President Dr Saeed Albezreh welcomed the guests and Treasurer Charlene Bayless made the closing remarks.

IFGD is a charitable organization and members come from diverse faith backgrounds representing Bahai, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Islam, Jain, Jew, Sikh, Unitarian Universalist, and other Faith traditions.

The Mayor of Beavercreek Honorable Don Adams, Ex Mayor of Riverside Bill Flaute and other prominent community members graced the event.

“Promoting a faith dialogue enriches our shared humanity and fosters respect and harmony,” Adams said. “I believe what we are doing here today is a giant step to understanding our differences and realizing they are not that great and that we are all here to make a better world for everyone.

“I believe part of the importance of interfaith understanding is that we can build bridges by fostering respect for others and reduce stereotypes. We can learn from our differences and provide valuable insights to each other. We have a shared responsibility to collaborate on social issues to strengthen our communities. We’re also here to promote tolerance, understanding, and reduce prejudice.”
