A Public Service Broadcaster, who retired from active service of FRCN (Radio Nigeria) in December 2020 after over 35years in Content Departments of Programmes and News/Current Affairs. He is currently a Broadcast Media Trainer. Employed in FRCN as a producer in May, 1986, after the mandatory one year service in the organisation, he had at various times be in charge of Radio Magazine, Drama, Talk and Phone-in-Programme as well as Entertainment production and Anchoring.
Notable among the productions under MAGAZINE were Sports World, The World in Focus, Literary Review, and Light of Islam; under DRAMA were Dan’s Family series in English, Burukutu( BKT)Show, in Pidgin; while under TALKS were Watch it, Random Talks. As for PHONE-IN-PROGRAMME, they include What the people say, Radio Link, Election Watch, Mandate Studio (some of these programmes are still on the schedule of Radio Nigeria). On ANCHOR, he had anchored Discussion and Interview Programmes such as Kapital Roundtable, Radio Encounter and Mandate among others. On DOCUMENTARIES, he had scripted and produced Radio Documentaries tagged Memories of Heroes, and This land Nigeria.
As Head of current Affairs Desk, Bello had written and edited many News Analysis and as a reporter, he covered many beats including Judiciary, Police, Politics , Sports and Internal Affairs. He was for many years, Radio Nigeria Network News Editor having trained as a Radio Commentator and had participated in many Live Outside Broadcast as a Commentator and or as a stringer.
He was pioneer General Manager, Prime FM Lokoja, Kogi State and later, GM Kapital FM, Abuja before moving up the ladder to become Acting Director News, FRCN. He was later promoted Director Programmes and thereafter, appointed Zonal Director, Abuja National Station from where he was made Zonal Director FRCN Ibadan National Station (covering South West).
Bello was a member of various professional unions and associations among which are RATTAWU, NUJ, SWAN, NGE. He attended many professional training, workshops and seminars in Nigeria and abroad.
These included Basic, Intermediate, and Advance Radio Production Courses, Commentators Course, Internews Station Managers course, NBC Workshop on Broadcasting and Accountability, Advanced course on Radio Broadcasting Techniques (Beijing China), Advanced Management workshop( CMD)

At various times, Bello had either served as member, chairman or secretary of committees or adhoc bodies at FRCN or outside of it and had served on secondment to Youth and Sports Ministry as Chief Press Secretary to the Minister between 1996 to 1999. He’s a recipient of several many distinguished awards. His experience as a classroom teacher (English and literature) on the job training, seminars, workshops and assignments spread over three decades in broadcasting and related chores had enabled him to learn the art of mentoring young Broadcasters and administering resources to achieve desirable results.
